Keturah is a highly regarded Accredited Family Law Specialist with an exceptional reputation specialising in all aspects of family law. As a senior member of the Nicholes leadership team, Keturah coaches and mentors junior lawyers.
Before joining Nicholes Family Lawyers, Keturah was based in Sydney where she held senior roles in two of Australia’s leading family law firms, and regularly represented high net worth clients.
Keturah also has expertise in international children’s disputes including applications under the Hague Convention on International Child Abductions.
Keturah had recent success in securing an order for the return of a 10 year old boy abducted from his mother in China in a published Federal Circuit Court judgment known as Hong v Wai [2015] FCCA 3448
Another recent topical case in which Keturah instructed was a complex jurisdictional dispute involving anti suit injunctions against a party in Bali Indonesia and enforcement of a Binding Financial Agreement. The decision is currently under appeal.
She also has a keen interest in law reform arising from developments in reproductive technologies such as surrogacy and egg donation. Keturah has presented seminars on such issues and participated in a radio program exploring IVF, surrogacy and adoption for modern and same-sex families. She also helped prepare and coordinate the Law Institute of Victoria’s submission to the Federal Parliament’s Inquiry into Surrogacy law reform.
Keturah is on the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the Law Institute of Victoria as well as the Law Institute’s Property and Maintenance Committee. She is also a member of the Family Law Section of Law Asia.
