With the COVID-19 pandemic creating a surge in community advocacy and support programs to counter the problems caused by social isolation, Switchboard Victoria initiated ‘Out & About’, a social home visiting service for LGBTIQA+ Victorians experiencing isolation during lockdown. Switchboard has also developed a new program ‘Rainbow Door’, a free specialist LGBTIQA+ helpline, providing access to advice, referral and support from experienced LGBTIQA+ peers. In Episode 35 of the Nicholes Family Lawyers Podcast Series, Managing Partner Sally Nicholes and Partner Bec Dahl are joined by Joe Ball, CEO and Sarah Marlowe, Chair, of Switchboard Victoria to discuss these programs and the pertinent issues currently affecting the LGBTIQA+ community.
